Clintons Bar and Grille

27 High St Ext, Clinton, MA 01510
(978) 598-7002

On a blistering cold October 18th (why was it snowing??) we made our way to Wachusett Mountain's Fall Festival and after a few hours of enjoying the Oktoberfest- inspired music, crafts, beer, and apple nibbles; hunger set in.

Enter Clintons Bar and Grille... a completely unexpected stop after miles of winding roads and breathtaking foliage. We wanted good food and a nice ambiance, and for a Sunday evening in Western, MA, we got it !

Potato Chip Encrusted Haddock on a bed of Risotto

I'm not entirely sure if this restaurant is partly steak house (most of their menu seemed to be meat) or exclusively fine-dining, but the atmosphere was sleek but also convivial, and it made for a great celebratory dinner!

We opted for the Haddock and Salmon dishes (two out of the three seafood options) and were very pleased. In addition, the Lobster bisque (rich and buttery) and the clam chowder (light and flavorful) were warm delights (to combat the nearly freezing temperatures.)

Our server made the experience smooth and warm and it never felt rushed. Coming from Boston, this was an almost foreign feeling.

If you ever find yourself in Central Massachusetts, and if it's on your way, drive by this sleek spot on a sleepy street and you won't be disappointed.
